Be Klosely VERSED: Historic RH Speaking Session

  • VERSE Work/Shop 35 West Market Street Red Hook, NY, 12571 United States (map)

𝙄𝙩 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝘼 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙚 is a celebration of the place we call home. The show integrates a collection of 114 paintings by Linden Avenue Middle School’s Sixth Grade Art Students studying a facade from their hometown. Special thanks to Art Teacher, Ms. Ana O’Keefe, who led the class on this study and helped provide vision for this show.

Enhancing the collection, and further celebrating our roots, are archival materials generously on loan from Historic Red Hook, including three dimensional models of town structures created in 2012 by community members under the direction of Processional Arts for Red Hook’s Bicentennial Parade, as well as historical images of buildings then and now and facades gone, but not to be forgotten.

During our final weekend of this show we are privileged to host Christopher Klose of Historic Red Hook for a storytelling with Q&A focused on the rich history of our beautiful town.  While this exhibition remains on view Thursday-Sunday, June 5th - 8th, our session with Chris will take place Saturday, June 7th from 3pm til closing.  All are encouraged to attend. Submit your historic Red Hook question ahead of time by emailing info@verseworkshop.com. Stop in and be well versed on the historic town of Red Hook.
