Join us for the Opening Reception of our Summer Show at VERSE Work/Shop - The Resuscitationists: Breathing Life into Work. The show features work by three regional artists and makers — Megan Offner, Erica Recto, and Filiz Soyak — whose practices share an uncommon thread: each reaches beyond the object being made and into the making itself as a living, breathing act.  Whether through formal meditation, the rhythm of repetitive mark-making, or a deep commitment to ecological reciprocity, these three practitioners breathe life into their work — literally and philosophically. 

“Resuscitationist” is a made-up term — and perhaps soon a movement.  It names something these three makers have been doing all along: reviving, sustaining, and animating the work they produce through intentional practice and a search for higher vibrancy. Light refreshments provided, come talk shop.
